When Svetozar Mavrodiev came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the THE CLUB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Svetozar Mavrodiev couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Svetozar Popchev in the 44th minute of play forced FC DNV Bratiskava's goalkeeper Tomáš Zednikovič to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Nikifor Groshkov fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored THE CLUB's protests and gave Nikifor Groshkov a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, THE CLUB's Nikifor Groshkov got a free kick in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Viktor Kamenec to strike the kick off in the second half. The FC DNV Bratiskava players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
