Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Taco Zwartkruis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Julias Rascals Apeldoorn from getting a goal against them. When Raf De Winter fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SK Gullegem's protests and gave Raf De Winter a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Julias Rascals Apeldoorn booed when SK Gullegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raf De Winter didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yelle Van Damme came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Christian Urbano. But to his dismay, Christian Urbano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Yelle Van Damme didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adalbert Oblakov went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After having played for 22 minutes, Andy Scholte managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andy Scholte was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 24th minute Adalbert Oblakov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yelle Van Damme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lode Jamieson was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 26 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of SK Gullegem:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Julias Rascals Apeldoorn:s goal. SK Gullegem:s Yelle Van Damme showed great skill when he stopped Sander Klasen:s penalty. In the 34th minute, Fabien Frederickx got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 40th minute Adalbert Oblakov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yelle Van Damme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabien Frederickx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabien Frederickx could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Taco Zwartkruis made a huge save. After the first half Julias Rascals Apeldoorn were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Adalbert Oblakov made the kick off in the second half. Yelle Van Damme made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Adalbert Oblakov sent off a good shot on target. Yelle Van Damme made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christian Urbano in the 54th minute. 56 minutes into the game, Andy Scholte cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Yelle Van Damme was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henny Braamhaar in the 63rd minute of play forced SK Gullegem's goalkeeper Yelle Van Damme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 65 played minutes Julias Rascals Apeldoorn got a freekick which was hit by Christian Urbano. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adalbert Oblakov got free with Yelle Van Damme in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. SK Gullegem's Yelle Van Damme proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save SK Gullegem from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Fabien Frederickx managed to get in a good position for a shot. SK Gullegem's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabien Frederickx was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Taco Zwartkruis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Yelle Van Damme made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adalbert Oblakov in the 75th minute. Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Henny Braamhaar got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fabien Frederickx struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Taco Zwartkruis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SK Gullegem. In the 83rd minute, Bertus Spijker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adalbert Oblakov scored 0-4 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yelle Van Damme, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Julias Rascals Apeldoorn eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
