With a little luck, Rondo's Andy Olfers got control of the ball when Aleksandr Chernogrivov tried to sneak it across the goal line. Doğa Hazret took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vincent Tieleman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Franco Aznar came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Rondo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franco Aznar couldn't finish the play. 26 minutes into the match, Rondo's goalkeeper Andy Olfers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valeriy Vishnevskiy. If Rudolf Krylatov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Andy Olfers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aleksandr Chernogrivov in the 35th minute of the match. In the 36th minute, Joost Vorenkamp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valeriy Vishnevskiy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andy Olfers having to interfere. Doğa Hazret showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vincent Tieleman, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Doğa Hazret didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Franco Aznar went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valeriy Vishnevskiy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Franco Aznar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute.
