A collision led to De Kasteelheren getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Erwin Lanting hit a great ball. Andrey Muhin's late challenge caught a De Kasteelheren's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Andrey Muhin helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of De Kasteelheren booed when STORM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 75th minute, De Kasteelheren's Marnix van Alst seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Marnix van Alst the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of De Kasteelheren protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Marnix van Alst had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Gerben Raatjes had in the 77thth minute some difficulties stopping Nikolay Kosunov's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Gerben Raatjes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Veniamin Nilov in the 90th minute. De Kasteelheren's Gerben Raatjes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Veniamin Nilov in the 98th minute of play. When the match was over STORM could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than De Kasteelheren throughout the match.
