A collision led to Geetsvondel² getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Ludwig Van Gestelt hit a great ball. When Fred Driel fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.C. Potentia's protests and gave Fred Driel a yellow card for diving instead. Fred Driel hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Cedrik Goossens kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pascal Vledder. That made the score 1-0 in the 27 minute of play. In the 30th minute, Geetsvondel²'s Vincent Theijs dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. The supporters of Geetsvondel² booed when S.C. Potentia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timo van Persie didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bobby Gyselinck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute, Jan-Joost Van de Plas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pascal Vledder was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 84th match minute, S.C. Potentia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruud Schokkenbroek to maneuver through the defense. S.C. Potentia's Pascal Vledder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hannes Steenbecks in the 85th minute of play. Pascal Vledder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cedrik Goossens in the 92nd minute of the match.
