The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Aloísio Arruda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iker Pero's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. The supporters of Maxaranguape - FSCMZ booed when Cavalos Cansados was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lúcio Lopes didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Oséias de Castro came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Maxaranguape - FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oséias de Castro couldn't finish the play. Cacá Hermes struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Jorge da Silva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maxaranguape - FSCMZ. The supporters of Maxaranguape - FSCMZ booed when Cavalos Cansados was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Schmidt didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 20 played minutes Cavalos Cansados got a freekick which was hit by Percival Quadros. Cacá Hermes kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Jorge da Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrézinho Gaúcho in the 23rd minute of play. Dadá Meira hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. The Maxaranguape - FSCMZ fans' excitement grew in the 27th match minute when Maxaranguape - FSCMZ's Andrézinho Gaúcho looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After 52 minutes, Simão Zanette mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maxaranguape - FSCMZ and the Cavalos Cansados players grew even worse after the yellow card. Simão Zanette hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iker Pero in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aloísio Arruda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 62nd match minute, Maxaranguape - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oséias de Castro to maneuver through the defense. Cacá Hermes's late challenge caught a Cavalos Cansados's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cacá Hermes helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Maxaranguape - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Cacá Hermes hit a great ball. In the 68thth minute of the game Andrézinho Gaúcho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cavalos Cansados's Jorge da Silva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 72 minutes of play, Maxaranguape - FSCMZ's Oséias de Castro made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jorge da Silva was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrézinho Gaúcho in the 79th minute of play forced Cavalos Cansados's goalkeeper Jorge da Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorge da Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrézinho Gaúcho in the 83rd minute of play. If Simão Zanette had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge da Silva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oséias de Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After 90 played minutes Cavalos Cansados got a freekick which was hit by Joel Schmidt. In the 94thth minute of the game Andrézinho Gaúcho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cavalos Cansados's Jorge da Silva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 96th minute, Simão Zanette got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cavalos Cansados's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
