In the 16th match minute, Templários MZC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelo Silveira to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the match, Templários MZC's goal looked a bit too open when Wilson Arantes came free, but Almir Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raúl Seco scored 2-0 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Silvinho Terra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Almir Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edu Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Templários MZC's zone, Juarês Donato stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Almir Sarmento came out of the goal and Juarês Donato tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 27th match minute, Templários MZC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tarcisio Rosado to maneuver through the defense. 28 minutes into the match, Templários MZC's Raúl Seco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Silvinho Terra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Silvinho Terra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raúl Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute, one of Sporting Dornelas FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sporting Dornelas FC. Angelo Silveira's late challenge caught a Sporting Dornelas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Angelo Silveira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 39th minute, Angelo Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Raúl Seco received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Silvinho Terra came out and tried to block the shot, but Raúl Seco slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
