When Paranhos Ariranha FC's Carlos Alberto de Amaral in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Marzagão's goalie prevented a goal. Neil Mar got his second yellow card in the match during the 9th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Marzagão getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Neil Mar hit a great ball. In the 11th minute Carlos Alberto de Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Luís Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Caco Donato hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. After 19 minutes, Carlos Alberto de Amaral made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Marzagão's Pedro Luís Fernandez tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Marzagão's Pedro Luís Fernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alberto de Amaral in the 23rd minute of play. With a little luck, Paranhos Ariranha FC's Lúcio Mota got control of the ball when Alfredo Esteves tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 31 played minutes Paranhos Ariranha FC got a freekick which was hit by Magno Jacinto. After 33 played minutes Paranhos Ariranha FC got a freekick which was hit by Douglas Mota. In the 36th minute, Marzagão's Alfredo Esteves dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. If Alberto Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Carlinhos Schmidt put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Pedro Luís Fernandez. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Alberto de Amaral was the one to do the kick off. Pedro Luís Fernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilton Alcântara in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 52nd match minute, Marzagão was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by César Rosa to maneuver through the defense. After 53 played minutes, Paranhos Ariranha FC's Fausto Fernandez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pedro Luís Fernandez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Paranhos Ariranha FC reached it. Pedro Luís Fernandez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlos Alberto de Amaral in the 54th minute. Evaristo Moreira charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Evaristo Moreira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 57 played minutes Paranhos Ariranha FC got a freekick which was hit by Evaristo Moreira. 60 minutes into the match, Paranhos Ariranha FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Esteves came free, but Lúcio Mota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Alberto de Amaral came free with the goalkeeper in the 63rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Pedro Luís Fernandez could save by the left post. Carlinhos Schmidt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfredo Esteves in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lúcio Mota prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Válbson Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alfredo Esteves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 82 minutes into the game, Hamílton Barros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paranhos Ariranha FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marzagão the free kick. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paranhos Ariranha FC's goalkeeper Lúcio Mota, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alfredo Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 92 minutes, Alfredo Esteves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marzagão's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo Esteves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marzagão's Pedro Luís Fernandez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Marzagão from getting a goal against them. 97 minutes into the match Carlos Alberto de Amaral climbed in front of goal and pressed up 1-5 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Pedro Luís Fernandez.
