Pedro Luís Fernandez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. After a defensive mix-up in Marzagão's zone, Carlos Eduardo Jacinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hernani Quirino to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Luiz Gustavo Dracena was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aurora FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marzagão the free kick. After a rather tough play, Aurora FC's Luiz Gustavo Dracena got a free kick in the 55th minute. Marzagão were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after Aurora FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cleiton Paulista took the corner. The referee ignored Aurora FC's protests and gave Horácio Queiroz a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Aurora FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Luiz Gustavo Dracena hit a great ball.
