The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 7 minutes into the game, Marzagão's Alfredo Esteves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vicente Azevedo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Alfredo Esteves scored 2-0 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vicente Azevedo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vicente Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from César Rosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute, Cássio Neiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. César Rosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Vicente Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vicente Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César Rosa in the 22nd minute of the match. The supporters of Bergamim F.C. booed when Marzagão was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juvenal de Moraes in the 25th minute of play forced Marzagão's goalkeeper Pedro Luís Fernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bergamim F.C.'s Vicente Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by César Rosa in the 43rd minute of play. Juvenal de Moraes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Luís Fernandez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Juvenal de Moraes made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Alfredo Esteves notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Bergamim F.C.'s Vicente Azevedo. Vicente Azevedo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vicente Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Prado in the 60th minute of play. César Rosa might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vicente Azevedo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
