The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wanderson Koehler during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Wanderson Koehler hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Róbson Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conrado Brasil in the 9th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Benê Diniz managed to get in a good position for a shot. ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s supporters rose to their feet, but Benê Diniz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Róbson Netto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 12th minute Conrado Brasil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Róbson Netto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 13 played minutes Atlético Mineiro got a freekick which was hit by Túlio Freitas. 16 minutes into the match, Benê Diniz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Róbson Netto. Atlético Mineiro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Benê Diniz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. A collision led to ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽ getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Gonçalo Siqueira hit a great ball. ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽ were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Atlético Mineiro's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Raúl Arósio took the corner. 25 minutes into the match, Atlético Mineiro's goalkeeper Róbson Netto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benê Diniz. 26 minutes into the game, Valério Andrade cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Doni Meirelles was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 29 minutes of play, ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s Vítor Teles made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Róbson Netto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Róbson Netto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benê Diniz in the 33rd minute. In the 39th minute Atlético Mineiro were awarded a corner. Jorge de Senna went to the cornerflag to take it. Róbson Netto made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Benê Diniz sent off a good shot on target. Benê Diniz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Róbson Netto made a huge save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benê Diniz to make the kick off. Róbson Netto came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s Vítor Teles. But to his dismay, Vítor Teles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. In the 58th minute of the game, Fred Coutinho landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. MOC ⚽ players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
