Iuri Netto showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Chiquinho Arruda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedrão Arce in the 19th minute of play. After 25 minutes, Nilmar do Nascimento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SRP-Laguna and the A. A. Carioca 【CIMZ】 players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to SRP-Laguna getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Nilmar do Nascimento hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute, A. A. Carioca 【CIMZ】 got a penalty, and João Carlos Vasconcelos placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. Tomé Quirino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Alex Sarmento made a huge save. 41 minutes into the match, Iuri Netto notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of SRP-Laguna's Alex Sarmento. Alex Sarmento was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 45 minutes into the match, SRP-Laguna's goalkeeper Alex Sarmento had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomé Quirino. Through an outstanding action, after 47 minutes, Alex Sarmento successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomé Quirino was the one to do the kick off. SRP-Laguna's Alex Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomé Quirino in the 52nd minute of play. In the 52nd minute, Iuri Netto made a precise shot to the right of Alex Sarmento. SRP-Laguna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. When João Francisco Almeida fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SRP-Laguna's protests and gave João Francisco Almeida a yellow card for diving instead. After 55 played minutes SRP-Laguna got a freekick which was hit by João Francisco Almeida. In the 67thth minute of the game Iuri Netto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SRP-Laguna's Alex Sarmento was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alex Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waldir Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the SRP-Laguna defense, Iuri Netto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alex Sarmento. The SRP-Laguna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alex Sarmento should have stopped the shot. 81 minutes into the game, Tomé Quirino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Alex Sarmento was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 85 minutes of play, A. A. Carioca 【CIMZ】's Waldir Almeida made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alex Sarmento was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of A. A. Carioca 【CIMZ】 booed when SRP-Laguna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilmar do Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. 94 minutes into the game, Zé Paulo Zonta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Alex Sarmento was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
