If Flavinho Alagoano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rafael Benítez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustave Martinot, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. A hard shot 14 in the game by Diamantino de Lara from a close distance when the talented Rafael Benítez managed to make a qualified save. Leon Sport Club's players were relieved. 16 minutes into the game, Diamantino de Lara lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Rafael Benítez. 19 minutes into the match, Leon Sport Club's goal looked a bit too open when Flavinho Alagoano came free, but Rafael Benítez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diamantino de Lara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rafael Benítez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by José Paulo Cruz during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 24 played minutes Guará FC got a freekick which was hit by José Paulo Cruz. 26 minutes into the game, Diamantino de Lara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Rafael Benítez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 31st minute, Adriano Teixeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Guará FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Flavinho Alagoano hit a great ball. Adriano Teixeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 36 minutes into the match, Leon Sport Club's goalkeeper Rafael Benítez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Flavinho Alagoano. After a rather tough play, Leon Sport Club's Eriberto Tande got a free kick in the 40th minute. Diamantino de Lara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo da Cunha in the 46th minute of play forced Guará FC's goalkeeper Emílio Motta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 50th minute, Edmundo Freire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavinho Alagoano in the 51st minute of play forced Leon Sport Club's goalkeeper Rafael Benítez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guará FC's Emílio Motta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Guará FC from getting a goal against them. Sydney Arruda kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Marcelo da Cunha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emílio Motta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Rafael Benítez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavinho Alagoano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Leon Sport Club's Edmundo Freire got a free kick in the 64th minute. The supporters of Guará FC booed when Leon Sport Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cauan Garcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diamantino de Lara in the 73rd minute of play forced Leon Sport Club's goalkeeper Rafael Benítez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafael Benítez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavinho Alagoano in the 86th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Flavinho Alagoano in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rafael Benítez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rafael Benítez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diamantino de Lara in the 90th minute of play. In the 91stth minute of the game Adriano Teixeira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Guará FC's Emílio Motta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Guará FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
