The referee showed Adriano Teixeira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Unidade Pinto Louco booed when Leon Sport Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adriano Teixeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute of the match Umberto Aparecido shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rafael Benítez showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Leon Sport Club defense, Jano de Toledo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rafael Benítez. The Leon Sport Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rafael Benítez should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Unidade Pinto Louco's Dalmo Félix got control of the ball when Edmundo Freire tried to sneak it across the goal line. 43 minutes into the game, Acácio Domingues was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Unidade Pinto Louco's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Leon Sport Club the free kick. The supporters of Leon Sport Club booed when Unidade Pinto Louco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Acácio Domingues didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jano de Toledo in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rafael Benítez saved Leon Sport Club from getting behind. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Jano de Toledo made the kick off in the second half. Unidade Pinto Louco's Acácio Domingues got his second yellow card of the match in the 50th minute. The referee ordered Acácio Domingues off the ground. 55 minutes into the match, Leon Sport Club's Adriano Teixeira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dalmo Félix narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Edmundo Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anderson Gerber in the 64th minute of play forced Unidade Pinto Louco's goalkeeper Dalmo Félix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Jano de Toledo came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Unidade Pinto Louco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jano de Toledo couldn't finish the play. In the 69th minute, Umberto Aparecido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dalmo Félix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelo da Cunha in the 70th minute of the match. In the 70th match minute, Unidade Pinto Louco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amauri Lima to maneuver through the defense. After 76 played minutes Leon Sport Club got a freekick which was hit by Edmundo Freire. Emanuel Dionísio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rafael Benítez. Leon Sport Club's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Unidade Pinto Louco getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Edgard Leme hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Egídio Capixaba during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 86 played minutes Unidade Pinto Louco got a freekick which was hit by Egídio Capixaba. Dalmo Félix made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo da Cunha in the 92nd minute of play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
