In the 21stth minute of the game Gernando Quintal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Leon Sport Club's Rafael Benítez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 23rd minute Gernando Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Benítez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the game, Monumento Sports's Gernando Quintal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rafael Benítez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 30th minute Gernando Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Benítez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicolas Matorin's late challenge caught a Leon Sport Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicolas Matorin helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Leon Sport Club booed when Monumento Sports was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Matorin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leon Sport Club's Rafael Benítez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gernando Quintal in the 40th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Monumento Sports's Nicolas Matorin got a free kick in the 46th minute. With his leg Natanael Sena managed to avoid a goal in the 48thth minute, when Leon Sport Club's Anderson Gerber fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The Leon Sport Club players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Monumento Sports were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Lopes to strike the kick off in the second half. Rafael Benítez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gernando Quintal in the 53rd minute of play. Rafael Benítez was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gernando Quintal showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 55 minute of play. After 60 played minutes Leon Sport Club got a freekick which was hit by Edmundo Freire. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Joel Lopes took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Rafael Benítez to make any attempt to save it. After 70 minutes, Gernando Quintal made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Leon Sport Club's Rafael Benítez tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Luiz Gustavo Mazza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Monumento Sports getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Joel Lopes hit a great ball. Sydney Arruda took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 85th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Natanael Sena. Monumento Sports's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gernando Quintal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rafael Benítez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Anderson Gerber recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Natanael Sena came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Leon Sport Club's Ronaldinho Lopes. But to his dismay, Ronaldinho Lopes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Monumento Sports's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
