Tirense F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.E.R. Caxias do Sul the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Mazurkiewicz in the 5th minute of play forced Tirense F.C.'s goalkeeper Luiz Eduardo Novaes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joélson Paraibano scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luiz Eduardo Novaes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When S.E.R. After a rather tough play, Tirense F.C.'s Gilberto Garcia got a free kick in the 38th minute. When S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Joélson Paraibano in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul were winning 0-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joélson Paraibano to strike the kick off in the second half. Luiz Eduardo Novaes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joélson Paraibano's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. The supporters of Tirense F.C. booed when S.E.R. Caxias do Sul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. César Sá didn't get a good kick on the ball. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 66 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Norberto Marinho came free, but Gianluigi Donnarumma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tirense F.C.'s Luiz Eduardo Novaes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Tirense F.C. from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Tirense F.C.'s Marcel de Amaral got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 74thth minute of the game Joélson Paraibano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tirense F.C.'s Luiz Eduardo Novaes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 80th minute of the match Vitinho Moreira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luiz Eduardo Novaes skillfully saved the ball. In the 81st minute, Gilberto Garcia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joélson Paraibano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 89thth minute tested the skills of Luiz Eduardo Novaes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the match clock showed 91 minutes, the score became 0-7 when Joélson Paraibano sped through Tirense F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luiz Eduardo Novaes.
