After 10 minutes, Frederico França mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rio Verde F.C CIMZ and the Itajaí Football Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 10 played minutes Rio Verde F.C CIMZ got a freekick which was hit by Frederico França. In the 12th minute, Luís Paulo de Castro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Karim Bado. The goal made the score 2-0. When Luís Fabiano Corrêa came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Itajaí Football Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Fabiano Corrêa couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fabiano Corrêa in the 20th minute of play forced Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's goalkeeper Karim Bado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luizinho Neves took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Christiano Cearense. Christiano Cearense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 28th minute, Conrado Miranda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute Carlos de Moraes suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. After 32 played minutes Rio Verde F.C CIMZ got a freekick which was hit by Luizinho Neves. Karim Bado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Fabiano Corrêa in the 33rd minute of play. Conrado Miranda did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-1 to the left of a surprised Karim Bado 33 minutes into the match. 40 minutes into the match, Itajaí Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Thomás do Valle came free, but Christiano Cearense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st match minute, Itajaí Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andreas Piovezan to maneuver through the defense. Lenílson Gomes struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Christiano Cearense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rio Verde F.C CIMZ. Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's Karim Bado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Rio Verde F.C CIMZ from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Conrado Miranda got free with Karim Bado in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Conrado Miranda to make the kick off. Luís Paulo de Castro hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After 52 played minutes Rio Verde F.C CIMZ got a freekick which was hit by Luizinho Neves. 56 minutes into the game, Thomás do Valle cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Christiano Cearense was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 60 minutes into the game, Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's Frederico França nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Christiano Cearense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-3. Frederico França scored 5-4 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Christiano Cearense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Karim Bado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Fabiano Corrêa in the 74th minute of the match. 77 minutes into the match, Itajaí Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Thomás do Valle came free, but Christiano Cearense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 78 played minutes Rio Verde F.C CIMZ got a freekick which was hit by Luizinho Neves. Karim Bado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Conrado Miranda's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. After 81 played minutes Itajaí Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Conrado Miranda. Christiano Cearense didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lenílson Gomes went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-5 was the resulting score. Christiano Cearense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thomás do Valle in the 89th minute. Karim Bado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Paulo de Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. In the 94th match minute, Rio Verde F.C CIMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardinho Salles to maneuver through the defense. Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
