Júlio Linares stood somewhat misplaced when Zé Paulo Diniz came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 14 minute. Júlio Linares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Paulo Diniz in the 17th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremias Preuss in the 19th minute of play forced Haridades F.C's goalkeeper Ronaldinho Pernambucano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute, Cleiton Cordeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zé Paulo Diniz kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After 42 minutes of play, Xiboquinha FC's Jeremias Preuss made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ronaldinho Pernambucano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Roger Koehler hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Guto Tasso made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Xiboquinha FC booed when Haridades F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Siqueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 55 minutes into the match, Guto Tasso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ronaldinho Pernambucano. Haridades F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guto Tasso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Kléberson Sanches might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ronaldinho Pernambucano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kléberson Sanches ran back to his position shaking his head. Ronaldinho Pernambucano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guto Tasso in the 66th minute of the match. After 69 minutes, Kléberson Sanches mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Xiboquinha FC and the Haridades F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. Júlio Linares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moisés Dracena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Norberto Tasso hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Ronaldinho Pernambucano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kléberson Sanches in the 77th minute of the match. After 78 played minutes Haridades F.C got a freekick which was hit by Ernesto Coelho. Xiboquinha FC's Júlio Linares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moisés Dracena in the 81st minute of play. In the 85th minute, Haridades F.C's Cafu Pinheiro seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Cafu Pinheiro the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Haridades F.C protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Cafu Pinheiro had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 86th match minute, Haridades F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cafu Pinheiro to maneuver through the defense. Ronaldinho Pernambucano made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Cláudio Ramalho sent off a good shot on target. Xiboquinha FC's Kléberson Sanches got his second yellow card of the match in the 87th minute. The referee ordered Kléberson Sanches off the ground. The supporters of Haridades F.C booed when Xiboquinha FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kléberson Sanches didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Jeremias Preuss managed to get in a good position for a shot. Xiboquinha FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeremias Preuss was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronaldinho Pernambucano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ronaldinho Pernambucano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cláudio Ramalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over Xiboquinha FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Haridades F.C throughout the match.
