Spectators: 152 (Terracing: 114, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Cristiano Salgado made the kick off which started today's match. Folke Österlund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evaristo Gerber in the 10th minute of the match. In the 10th minute Evaristo Gerber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Folke Österlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Catugi FC's Folke Österlund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Gerber in the 20th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Catugi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Salgado came free, but Folke Österlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Folke Österlund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evaristo Gerber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Túlio Jacinto in the 27th minute of play forced Catugi FC's goalkeeper Folke Österlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 29 played minutes Catugi FC got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fernando Rezende. Catugi FC's Nando de Alcântara got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Hernani Travassos took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Giovani Paulista to make any attempt to save it. After some careless play in the Catugi FC defense, Túlio Jacinto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Folke Österlund. The Catugi FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Folke Österlund should have stopped the shot. Anderson Carioca kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Catugi FC's Tiaguinho Fernandez shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 46th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Giovani Paulista but with some difficulty. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Henrique Félix's late challenge caught a Locomotiva grena's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henrique Félix helped the player get up and apologised. In the 53rd minute, Henrique Félix hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 56th minute Evaristo Gerber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Folke Österlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 57 minutes into the match, Hernani Travassos notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Locomotiva grena's Giovani Paulista. Giovani Paulista was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Folke Österlund didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 64th minute, which inside left pole to 2-2. 67 minutes into the match, Túlio Jacinto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Folke Österlund. Catugi FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Túlio Jacinto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Túlio Jacinto scored 2-4 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Folke Österlund, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Locomotiva grena's Giovani Paulista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hernani Travassos in the 78th minute of play. In the 82nd match minute, Locomotiva grena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evaristo Gerber to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th match minute, Catugi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrique Félix to maneuver through the defense. 85 minutes into the match, Catugi FC's goalkeeper Folke Österlund had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Túlio Jacinto. With 87 minutes on the clock, Hamílton Matos commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 86th minute of the game. One of Locomotiva grena:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Catugi FC:s goal. After a defensive mix-up in Locomotiva grena's zone, Claudinei Carioca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giovani Paulista came out of the goal and Claudinei Carioca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonel Varela in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Giovani Paulista prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 98 minutes into the match, Hernani Travassos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Giovani Paulista. Locomotiva grena's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hernani Travassos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-4. Locomotiva grena's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
