The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, FC St. Pauli's Pedro Luiz Trevisan got control of the ball when Celsinho Xavier tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dário Schmidt in the 10th minute of play forced Fala Sério FC's goalkeeper Alexsandro Ribeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jacinto Munhoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexsandro Ribeiro having to interfere. In the 13th match minute, Fala Sério FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Pedro do Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. In the 14th minute Edmílson Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexsandro Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Luiz Trevisan made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Celsinho Xavier sent off a good shot on target. Ricardo Nunes kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Alexsandro Ribeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Munhoz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedro Luiz Trevisan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Celsinho Xavier in the 41st minute. Jacinto Munhoz kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. João Pedro do Nascimento's late challenge caught a FC St. Pauli's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Pedro do Nascimento helped the player get up and apologised. After 45 played minutes Fala Sério FC got a freekick which was hit by João Pedro do Nascimento. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

55 minutes into the match, FC St. Pauli's goal looked a bit too open when Amílton Massa came free, but Pedro Luiz Trevisan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Luiz Trevisan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amílton Massa in the 67th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dário Schmidt got free with Alexsandro Ribeiro in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 72 minutes into the game, Celsinho Xavier cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Pedro Luiz Trevisan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With his leg Alexsandro Ribeiro managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when FC St. Pauli's Jacinto Munhoz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jacinto Munhozs short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Alexsandro Ribeiro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 92nd minute, Celsinho Xavier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 94 minutes into the game, Amílton Massa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Pedro Luiz Trevisan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fala Sério FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
