Spectators: 152 (Terracing: 114, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Pedro Augusto de Barros took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 4 minutes, Sidnei Faria mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Portuguesa and the União Verde FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bebeto de Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sidnei Faria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sidnei Faria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bebeto de Salles having to interfere. Laércio Damião took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Régis Castro. Régis Castro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. With a little luck, Portuguesa's Régis Castro got control of the ball when Gilvan Pombal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Válbson Marques kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. The supporters of União Verde FC booed when Portuguesa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maicon Munhoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Régis Castro made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Laércio Damião sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Portuguesa getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Rômulo Fernandes hit a great ball. After 31st play minutes Pedro Augusto de Barros shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Bebeto de Salles and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sidnei Faria in the 34th minute of play forced União Verde FC's goalkeeper Bebeto de Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute, Pedro Augusto de Barros ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bebeto de Salles was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. In the 38th minute, Sidnei Faria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 39 played minutes União Verde FC got a freekick which was hit by Gilvan Pombal. Régis Castro was a little too slow when Gilvan Pombal got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 43rd minute. The score was now 2-3. After having played for 46 minutes, Sidnei Faria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portuguesa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sidnei Faria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Laércio Damião stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. União Verde FC's Bebeto de Salles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 50th minute of the match, managed to save União Verde FC from getting a goal against them. Pedro Augusto de Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Bebeto de Salles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of União Verde FC booed when Portuguesa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maicon Munhoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute Laércio Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Régis Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 69 minutes into the game, Pedro Augusto de Barros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Portuguesa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave União Verde FC the free kick. A collision led to Portuguesa getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Pedro Augusto de Barros hit a great ball. Pedro Augusto de Barros was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 72nd minute. Portuguesa's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Pedro Augusto de Barros had several of the União Verde FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 76 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-5 score and a disappointed Bebeto de Salles as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 86th minute, Pedro Augusto de Barros fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Bebeto de Salles, passed just outside the right post. Pedro Augusto de Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
