Enrique Paiva started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in BOA VISTA E.C.'s zone, Léo Nóbrega stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Faria came out of the goal and Léo Nóbrega tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Léo Nóbrega hit a great ball. Edmílson de Souza kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After 25 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS! Enio Tróia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Naldo Cabral's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Manoel Teixeira struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Enio Tróia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BOA VISTA E.C.. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Naldo Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot. BOA VISTA E.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Naldo Cabral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enio Tróia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tony Abraão hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Manoel Teixeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Léo Nóbrega charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Léo Nóbrega the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 36th match minute, ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Léo Nóbrega to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Naldo Cabral in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Enio Tróia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 41st minute, Edmílson de Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guto Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Tony Abraão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half BOA VISTA E.C. were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Naldo Cabral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 73rd minute, Tony Abraão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 75 played minutes ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS got a freekick which was hit by Wesley Mendonça. After a defensive mix-up in ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS's zone, Manoel Teixeira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enio Tróia came out of the goal and Manoel Teixeira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. BOA VISTA E.C.'s players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
