Spectators: 152 (Terracing: 114, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Cristiano de Moraes started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Várzea F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Aníbal Paes in the 6th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s goalie and right to Vivaldo Bueno. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Marcus Soares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Marcus Soares hit a great ball. In the 21st minute, Alessandro Mandrak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Várzea F.C.'s Romeu Batista proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Várzea F.C. from getting a goal against them. Romeu Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim de Queirós in the 26th minute of play. Manfredo Cabral kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Valdemar Quadros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alessandro Mandrak in the 28th minute of play. Luiz Guilherme Barreto took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valdemar Quadros. Valdemar Quadros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Valdemar Quadros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Guilherme Barreto in the 35th minute of the match. In the 40th minute Alessandro Mandrak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdemar Quadros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manfredo Cabral hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. 46 minutes into the match, Várzea F.C.'s goalkeeper Romeu Batista had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joaquim de Queirós. In the 46thth minute of the game Joaquim de Queirós who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Várzea F.C.'s Romeu Batista was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Romeu Batista made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wágner Fox in the 48th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alessandro Mandrak was the one to do the kick off. When Alessandro Mandrak came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Várzea F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alessandro Mandrak couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Guilherme Barreto in the 53rd minute of play forced Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s goalkeeper Valdemar Quadros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alessandro Mandrak got his second yellow card in the match during the 68th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Várzea F.C.'s Alessandro Mandrak got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 71st minute, Joaquim de Queirós ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Romeu Batista was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Valdemar Quadros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Guilherme Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cristiano de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valdemar Quadros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Guilherme Barreto in the 83rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Várzea F.C. defense, Joaquim de Queirós kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Romeu Batista. The Várzea F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Romeu Batista should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- booed when Várzea F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogério Loureiro didn't get a good kick on the ball.
