Hermínio Moraes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Miguel Baptista made a huge save. The supporters of Pombal 2003 F.C. booed when Karaboudjan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateus Velloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Miguel Baptista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Di Yuan Liang, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Luiz Fabiano de Lima showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jefferson do Vale in the 12th minute of the match. Jairo Quintal hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. 14 minutes into the match, Karaboudjan's goalkeeper Miguel Baptista had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sebastian Zieba. After 15 minutes Karaboudjan's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Di Yuan Liang who took care of the corner kick. When Rafael Godoi fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Karaboudjan's protests and gave Rafael Godoi a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Karaboudjan getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Rafael Godoi hit a great ball. Karaboudjan's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Di Yuan Liang scored to the left of an out of position Miguel Baptista, making the score, 1-0. In the 30th match minute, Pombal 2003 F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Zieba to maneuver through the defense. After 36 played minutes Pombal 2003 F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Zieba. In the 38th minute, Dráusio Saraiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Karaboudjan's Evaristo Tolino got a free kick in the 44th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Di Yuan Liang was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Pombal 2003 F.C. booed when Karaboudjan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo Quintal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Di Yuan Liang in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Miguel Baptista prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Edvaldo Porto got a free kick in the 56th minute. Hermínio Moraes struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Miguel Baptista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pombal 2003 F.C.. In the 66th minute, Sebastian Zieba left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pombal 2003 F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Di Yuan Liang took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Miguel Baptista. Miguel Baptista dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sebastian Zieba during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sebastian Zieba kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Miguel Baptista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Di Yuan Liang in the 87th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Karaboudjan's Dráusio Saraiva got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 88th minute of the match Cacá Prestes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Miguel Baptista showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sebastian Zieba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Pombal 2003 F.C. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Karaboudjan had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
