After a rather tough play, Jurassic Monsters SA's Beto Trigo got a free kick in the 13th minute. José Carlos Simões scored 2-0 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Denílson Azevedo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonas Torres got free with Denílson Azevedo in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 20th minute, Palmeiras's José Carlos Simões dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Jurassic Monsters SA's Denílson Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fábio de Souza in the 24th minute of play. Denílson Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Jonas Torres sent off a good shot on target. When Jurassic Monsters SA's Dorian Silveira in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 31st minute, Jurassic Monsters SA's Diego Netto seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Diego Netto the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Jurassic Monsters SA protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Diego Netto had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 33 minutes into the match, Perivaldo Furlan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Denílson Azevedo. Jurassic Monsters SA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Perivaldo Furlan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Palmeiras's Toninho Goiano slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Denílson Azevedo. That made the score 6-0 after 38 minutes of play. The supporters of Palmeiras booed when Jurassic Monsters SA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remo Rodrigues didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the match, José Carlos Simões had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Denílson Azevedo. Jurassic Monsters SA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that José Carlos Simões was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 7-0 at half-time.

After 50 played minutes Jurassic Monsters SA got a freekick which was hit by Dorian Silveira. In the 52nd minute, Fábio de Souza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Denílson Azevedo was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toninho Goiano in the 54th minute of play forced Jurassic Monsters SA's goalkeeper Denílson Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Denílson Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toninho Goiano in the 58th minute of play. After 62 minutes of play, Palmeiras's Fábio de Souza made it 9-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Denílson Azevedo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 64th minute José Carlos Simões shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denílson Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
