In the 6th minute, Gabriel Poveda made a precise shot to the right of Juvenal Valladares. Chester Bennington's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Juvenal Valladares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Poveda in the 11th minute of play. Haroldo Mazza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Igor Bohn made a huge save. With a little luck, AVAÍ F.C.'s Igor Bohn got control of the ball when José Maria Couto tried to sneak it across the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Chester Bennington's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Poveda came free, but Juvenal Valladares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Chester Bennington's Reinaldo Veiga got a free kick in the 28th minute. Juvenal Valladares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anderson Mattos, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 33rd minute, Gabriel Poveda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 37 minutes into the game, Chester Bennington's Nestor Vinhas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Igor Bohn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Osvaldinho de Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, AVAÍ F.C.'s Mateus Alves got a free kick in the 43rd minute. A collision led to Chester Bennington getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Telmo Carneiro hit a great ball. After 45 played minutes, AVAÍ F.C.'s Augusto Penha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Juvenal Valladares came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in AVAÍ F.C. reached it. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Mateus Alves made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Chester Bennington booed when AVAÍ F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Poveda didn't get a good kick on the ball. 55 minutes into the match, Anderson Mattos dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Juvenal Valladares, 1-2. AVAÍ F.C. made a substitution. Joaquim Ceresso replaced Anderson Mattos. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gabriel Poveda got free with Juvenal Valladares in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 67 played minutes Chester Bennington got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fábio Tepedino. Juvenal Valladares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joaquim Ceresso went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Juvenal Valladares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mateus Alves in the 71st minute of play. 75 minutes into the game, Gabriel Poveda recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Juvenal Valladares. Gabriel Poveda showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mateus Alves in the 83rd minute of play forced Chester Bennington's goalkeeper Juvenal Valladares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Chester Bennington's Juvenal Valladares got control of the ball when Gabriel Poveda tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 86th match minute, Chester Bennington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Fábio Tepedino to maneuver through the defense. Telmo Carneiro hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match.
