When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Edmílson Valadares sped through AF CERRADO's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sandrinho Sabóia. Jarbas Aguiar charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jarbas Aguiar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Litoral EC - CIMZ's Jarbas Aguiar got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 29th minute, Jefferson Aparecido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sandrinho Sabóia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Vides, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Litoral EC - CIMZ defense, Kaká Goiano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claudinei Esteves. The Litoral EC - CIMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claudinei Esteves should have stopped the shot. Claudinei Esteves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jefferson Aparecido, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 94 minutes into the game, Jefferson Aparecido cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Claudinei Esteves was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Despite being the better team, AF CERRADO failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
