Anísio Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Valdir Neves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcus Diniz in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacinto Aparecido saved Santos da Bahia Fc from getting behind. After 19 minutes, Marcus Diniz made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Santos da Bahia Fc's Jacinto Aparecido tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jacinto Aparecido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Umberto Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Goiás Esporte Clube's Natanael Paraense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdemar Pena in the 26th minute of play. Santos da Bahia Fc's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Valdir Neves ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Valdir Neves came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Goiás Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdir Neves couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Goiás Esporte Clube's Natanael Paraense got control of the ball when Lisa Simpson tried to sneak it across the goal line. 62 minutes had been played when some careless play by Goiás Esporte Clube's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Valdemar Pena was slow to take the kick. During this time Santos da Bahia Fc's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Valdemar Pena got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Natanael Paraense quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 64 minutes of play, Goiás Esporte Clube's Umberto Peres made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jacinto Aparecido was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Goiás Esporte Clube's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
