The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tadeu da Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Capibaribe Stars getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Kalidou Van Dijck hit a great ball. When Celsinho Cosme came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Buritama Sports fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celsinho Cosme couldn't finish the play. After 19 played minutes Buritama Sports got a freekick which was hit by Aírton Veiga. 26 minutes into the match, Buritama Sports's goal looked a bit too open when Tadeu da Silveira came free, but Wanderson Pena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Buritama Sports's Wanderson Pena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tadeu da Silveira in the 28th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Capibaribe Stars's Raúl Breckenfeld got a free kick in the 30th minute. Kalidou Van Dijck hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Capibaribe Stars to win.
