Alisson Goycochea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean Sarmento in the 5th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Délio Peixoto got free with Alisson Goycochea in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vila Mascote FC's goalkeeper Guga Baiano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 16 minutes into the match, INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's goalkeeper Alisson Goycochea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zhang Zheng Liang. With a little luck, INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's Alisson Goycochea got control of the ball when Délio Peixoto tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 22ndth minute of the game Fred Valencia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vila Mascote FC's Guga Baiano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 46th minute of the match Délio Peixoto sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alisson Goycochea skillfully saved the ball. In the 47th minute Fred Valencia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guga Baiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zhang Zheng Liang to make the kick off.
