After 23 minutes, Anastasio Hermon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Merengue FC and the Habsburgo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 25 minutes, Arnulfo Tano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Habsburgo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnulfo Tano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mateo Llorienzo came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Habsburgo's Prudencio Thomas. But to his dismay, Prudencio Thomas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Eusebio Eufrasio charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
