The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 13th match minute, De Boedo Vengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teobaldo Fertus to maneuver through the defense. If Emilio Berriotxoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute Adrian Bortzaioriz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Jaizki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, De Boedo Vengo's Severino Vargas got a free kick in the 45th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emilio Berriotxoa made a kick off.
