The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Eliseo Tiniebra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AC LeX Luthor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gastres FC the free kick. Thibaut Courtois showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolas Gonza in the 5th minute of the match. Thibaut Courtois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Gonza, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Guido Oriol could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Virgilio Txilar made a huge save. Virgilio Txilar was out of position in the 9 minute of play, and Guido Oriol capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Guido Oriol really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Thibaut Courtois made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natalio Refugio in the 19th minute of play. Gastres FC's Virgilio Txilar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Gastres FC from getting a goal against them. Guido Oriol who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Virgilio Txilar when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolas Gonza in the 30th minute of play forced AC LeX Luthor's goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gastres FC's Nicolas Gonza managed to work through AC LeX Luthor's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Nicolas Gonza dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Thibaut Courtois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natalio Refugio, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. A collision led to Gastres FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Natalio Refugio hit a great ball. Reynaldo Elivareo hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolas Gonza in the 46th minute of play forced AC LeX Luthor's goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 47 minutes, Reynaldo Elivareo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AC LeX Luthor and the Gastres FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Gastres FC booed when AC LeX Luthor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reynaldo Elivareo didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Natalio Refugio made a kick off. Thibaut Courtois made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Natalio Refugio sent off a good shot on target. When Baldomero Xabat fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AC LeX Luthor's protests and gave Baldomero Xabat a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to AC LeX Luthor getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Baldomero Xabat hit a great ball. After having played for 58 minutes, Natalio Refugio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gastres FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Natalio Refugio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gastres FC made a substitution. Segundo Bortzaioriz replaced Jeremias Tancredo. A collision led to AC LeX Luthor getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Dalmacio Aztore hit a great ball. Thibaut Courtois showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natalio Refugio in the 69th minute of the match. Thibaut Courtois took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Natalio Refugio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mauro Tadzio kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 75th match minute, Gastres FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Tadzio to maneuver through the defense. 76 minutes into the game, Guido Oriol cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Virgilio Txilar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for AC LeX Luthor. 88 minutes into the game, Natalio Refugio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Thibaut Courtois. Natalio Refugio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Thibaut Courtois made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Segundo Bortzaioriz sent off a good shot on target.
