Yaji FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting de Gijón the free kick. The referee ignored Yaji FC's protests and gave Constantino Loi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 18th match minute, Yaji FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Constantino Loi to maneuver through the defense. Yaji FC's Gavino Bras proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Yaji FC from getting a goal against them. After 21 played minutes, Sporting de Gijón's Ezequiel Fernández shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gavino Bras came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sporting de Gijón reached it. After having played for 25 minutes, Erasmo Blasi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yaji FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erasmo Blasi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gavino Bras made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wilfredo Etxahun in the 28th minute. Wilfredo Etxahun could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Gavino Bras made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erasmo Blasi in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Peter Ivarsson saved Sporting de Gijón from getting behind. In the 40thth minute of the game Erasmo Blasi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sporting de Gijón's Peter Ivarsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gavino Bras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilfredo Etxahun in the 46th minute of the match. In the 47th match minute, Sporting de Gijón was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ezequiel Fernández to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Sporting de Gijón's Ezequiel Fernández got a free kick in the 48th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wilfredo Etxahun made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Yaji FC's Gogo Maura got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 58th minute of the match Ezequiel Fernández shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gavino Bras showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Yaji FC's goal looked a bit too open when Celedonio Kinsen came free, but Gavino Bras reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute, Blas-Armando Giunta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sporting de Gijón's Simon Cesario was substituted for Cristian Medina. Gavino Bras made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Peter Ivarsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jimeno Montrel's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Gavino Bras took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celedonio Kinsen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gavino Bras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaron Anselmino, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Celedonio Kinsen scored 3-0 in the 97th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gavino Bras, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sporting de Gijón fully deserved thier win.
