The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Sportivo Smirnoff Vodka's Colon Chirivoga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bernardino Peruxu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 7th minute, Hector Montrel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 12thth minute of the game Colon Chirivoga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pendex's Bernardino Peruxu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramon Cheche in the 14th minute of play forced Pendex's goalkeeper Bernardino Peruxu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Pendex booed when Sportivo Smirnoff Vodka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ceferino Rito didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 21 played minutes Teo Lauaxeta shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Sportivo Smirnoff Vodka's Kepa Arrizabalaga to catch but Teo Lauaxeta was lucky. It became 0-1 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. Ramon Cheche fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardino Peruxu having to interfere. In the 31st minute Ramon Cheche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardino Peruxu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sportivo Smirnoff Vodka's Rune Odeen got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Edelmiro Leizarraga's late challenge caught a Pendex's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edelmiro Leizarraga helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Pendex booed when Sportivo Smirnoff Vodka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edelmiro Leizarraga didn't get a good kick on the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Sportivo Smirnoff Vodka's goal looked a bit too open when Americo Dantel came free, but Kepa Arrizabalaga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pendex were awarded a corner in the 38th minute after Sportivo Smirnoff Vodka's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Teo Lauaxeta took the corner. Pendex's Gualterio Quilo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Kepa Arrizabalaga in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 41 minutes into the match, Colon Chirivoga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernardino Peruxu. Pendex's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Colon Chirivoga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Americo Dantel to make the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Pendex was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Narciso Salomone to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 54 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Colon Chirivoga sped through Pendex's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bernardino Peruxu. The throw-in from Patricio Eduino in the 58th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Sportivo Smirnoff Vodka's Edelmiro Leizarraga. If Gualterio Quilo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Colon Chirivoga in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernardino Peruxu saved Pendex from getting behind. In the 65th minute of the match, Americo Dantel got a very nice opportunity to score, but Kepa Arrizabalaga was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 67th minute, Elberg Largan made a precise shot to the right of Bernardino Peruxu. Pendex's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Pendex's Abel Bermudez was substituted for Marciano Gartzi. Pendex's Luciano Johans quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Lorenzo Eusko, made in the 78th minute of the game. Narciso Salomone lost his temper 84 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 84 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pendex! Pendex:s Bernardino Peruxu showed great skill when he stopped Hector Montrel:s penalty. Bernardino Peruxu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elberg Largan in the 88th minute of the match. In the 97th minute Gualterio Quilo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kepa Arrizabalaga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pendex's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
