Cugat Abechuco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aureo Mazuelas having to interfere. Xavier Basulto kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Cugat Abechuco might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aureo Mazuelas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cugat Abechuco ran back to his position shaking his head. Centinela Español FC's Josías Valdenebro got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Quinto Abajas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eustaquio Abendano hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eder Laso de la Vega during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nacional Potosí's Papo Abalos was substituted for Rogelio Abel. The supporters of Nacional Potosí booed when Centinela Español FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eder Laso de la Vega didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cugat Abechuco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Aureo Mazuelas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute Cugat Abechuco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aureo Mazuelas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nery Pumpido came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Centinela Español FC's Josías Valdenebro. But to his dismay, Josías Valdenebro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Quinto Abajas struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Aureo Mazuelas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nacional Potosí. After 38 minutes of play, Nacional Potosí's Eustaquio Abendano made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aureo Mazuelas was left in no man's land by his defense there! 42 minutes into the game, Nacional Potosí's Eustaquio Abendano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aureo Mazuelas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eustaquio Abendano was the one to do the kick off. Aureo Mazuelas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eustaquio Abendano in the 56th minute. The audience was convinced that Eustaquio Abendano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aureo Mazuelas was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eder Laso de la Vega in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nery Pumpido prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marc Lanchares kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. The supporters of Centinela Español FC booed when Nacional Potosí was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xabier Abaurre didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Nacional Potosí's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Nacional Potosí getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Cugat Abechuco hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cugat Abechuco got free with Aureo Mazuelas in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Josías Valdenebro hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute, Maurilio Granic hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nacional Potosí's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
