In the 11th match minute, Glorioso Deportivo Cali was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enaut Barreiros to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Glorioso Deportivo Cali booed when Tiburones Rojos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaudencio Salomone didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 18 minutes, Cesario Urtaza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glorioso Deportivo Cali's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cesario Urtaza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 20th minute, Teodosio Lain left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tiburones Rojos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. With an all-out effort, Glorioso Deportivo Cali's Prospero Hanni threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Vellito Bevia, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Enaut Barreiros blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Prospero Hanni having to make a save. Melchazadec Sorondo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sixto Tristan in the 27th minute of play. Melchazadec Sorondo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gaudencio Salomone went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 32nd minute Sixto Tristan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melchazadec Sorondo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sixto Tristan scored 0-3 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Melchazadec Sorondo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Melchazadec Sorondo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaudencio Salomone in the 40th minute of the match. Melchazadec Sorondo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teofilo Venceslao, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Melchazadec Sorondo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaudencio Salomone in the 46th minute of play. A collision led to Glorioso Deportivo Cali getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Enaut Barreiros hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Prospero Hanni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vellito Bevia in the 56th minute of play. Glorioso Deportivo Cali's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lucas Cespedes in the 58th minute. With a little luck, Glorioso Deportivo Cali's Melchazadec Sorondo got control of the ball when Sixto Tristan tried to sneak it across the goal line. The tension between the Tiburones Rojos and the Glorioso Deportivo Cali players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinicio Ciencabrero in the 85th minute of play forced Tiburones Rojos's goalkeeper Prospero Hanni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teodosio Lain was extremely unlucky when he, in the 86th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Teodosio Lain scored 0-8 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Melchazadec Sorondo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Tiburones Rojos getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Saul Sugar hit a great ball. If Enaut Barreiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Prospero Hanni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xandro Masbernat, who was totally free with the ball in the 99th minute. The Glorioso Deportivo Cali fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Tiburones Rojos were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
