The Atletico Maturrango fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Xuban Llave should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Sabaneta FC's zone, Efrain Vilardell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lautaro Estebanez came out of the goal and Efrain Vilardell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roegelio Mariño hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute, Efrain Vilardell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lautaro Estebanez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 24th minute, Diego Angulo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 30 minutes into the match, Efrain Vilardell notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Sabaneta FC's Lautaro Estebanez. Lautaro Estebanez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Efrain Vilardell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lautaro Estebanez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Efrain Vilardell, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Daniel Palomar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Lautaro Estebanez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Diego Angulo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Xuban Llave. 5-2. Atletico Maturrango's Ederono Ojero was substituted for Efrain Vilardell. Orlin Hinojosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Estebanez having to interfere.
