Leonel Rosabal hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. SAPRIMECKBEL's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Adam Badiola scored to the left of an out of position Rodolfo Wanchope, making the score, 1-2. With his leg Rodolfo Wanchope managed to avoid a goal in the 32ndth minute, when Inter de Chillán's Jorge Valdivia fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 37th minute, Javier Casas made a precise shot to the right of Rodolfo Wanchope. SAPRIMECKBEL's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Rodolfo Wanchope didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 42nd minute, which inside left pole to 3-2. Jorge Valdivia kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

José Ignacio Rocha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kerry Flöter, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 57th match minute, Inter de Chillán was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lothar Matthæus to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th minute, Javier Casas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rodolfo Wanchope was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. Rodolfo Wanchope took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lothar Matthæus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Ignacio Rocha came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by SAPRIMECKBEL's Bennie Nuñez. But to his dismay, Bennie Nuñez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-3. 69 minutes into the match, Jorge Valdivia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rodolfo Wanchope. SAPRIMECKBEL's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorge Valdivia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-3. SAPRIMECKBEL's Rodolfo Wanchope played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Javier Casas in the 74th minute of play. Javier Casas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodolfo Wanchope having to interfere. Rodolfo Wanchope made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Valdivia in the 81st minute of play. Rodolfo Wanchope showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Javier Casas in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 83rd minute, Mićo Grande hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 86th minute, but José Ignacio Rocha got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Inter de Chillán hanging dry this time. If Adam Badiola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, SAPRIMECKBEL's Mićo Grande got a free kick in the 88th minute. 91 minutes into the match, SAPRIMECKBEL's goal looked a bit too open when Javier Casas came free, but Rodolfo Wanchope reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the SAPRIMECKBEL defense, Jorge Valdivia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rodolfo Wanchope. The SAPRIMECKBEL fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodolfo Wanchope should have stopped the shot. Inter de Chillán were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of SAPRIMECKBEL for a fine match.
