In the 8th minute, Samuel Laurentzi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 8 minutes, Shawn Romero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cosmos Soccer Club and the Hermosillo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Conrado Mirande in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jarrett Rosenberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Patrick Fontenot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jarrett Rosenberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrado Mirande, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jarrett Rosenberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Conrado Mirande in the 28th minute of the match. Cosmos Soccer Club were awarded a corner in the 31th minute after Hermosillo FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Harvey Flynn took the corner. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cosmos Soccer Club's goalkeeper Jarrett Rosenberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jarrett Rosenberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donato Adrio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Hermosillo FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Antony Carmine hit a great ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

In the 51st match minute, Cosmos Soccer Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robustiano Amor to maneuver through the defense. Jarrett Rosenberg was a little too slow when Conrado Mirande got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 0-1. When Nicky Cavazos fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cosmos Soccer Club's protests and gave Nicky Cavazos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 62nd minute, Nicky Cavazos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute Conrado Mirande shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarrett Rosenberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jarrett Rosenberg was out of position in the 68 minute of play, and Donato Adrio capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Donato Adrio really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. 80 minutes into the match, Cosmos Soccer Club's goalkeeper Jarrett Rosenberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samuel Laurentzi. After a defensive mix-up in Cosmos Soccer Club's zone, Conrado Mirande stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jarrett Rosenberg came out of the goal and Conrado Mirande tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Cosmos Soccer Club fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Hermosillo FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
