An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Peres in the 3rd minute of play forced Colo-Colo's goalkeeper Marino Sadin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manolito Neira in the 7th minute of play forced Loja S.C.'s goalkeeper Ismael Rossell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ismael Rossell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manolito Neira in the 9th minute of the match. In the 13th minute, Alexandro Antoniano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lucho Pérez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Ismael Rossell made a huge save. 24 minutes into the match, Colo-Colo's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Peres came free, but Marino Sadin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexandro Antoniano kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Lucho Pérez made a precise shot to the right of Ismael Rossell. Loja S.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. If Victor Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the match, Loja S.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Frank Lobos came free, but Ismael Rossell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ismael Rossell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Lobos, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Victor Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Marino Sadin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank Lobos got free with Ismael Rossell in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, Colo-Colo's Ismael Rossell threw himself towards the right post 38 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Manolito Neira, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manolito Neira in the 38th minute of play forced Loja S.C.'s goalkeeper Ismael Rossell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Loja S.C.'s Felix Pascua got a free kick in the 40th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Victor Peres stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Loja S.C. getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Felix Pascua hit a great ball. Manolito Neira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marino Sadin came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Loja S.C.'s Victor Peres. But to his dismay, Victor Peres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Colo-Colo's Marino Sadin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Peres in the 65th minute of play. Ismael Rossell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucho Pérez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manolito Neira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Colo-Colo's Arturo Vidal was substituted for Frank Lobos. In the 80th minute, Joel Zuburu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ismael Rossell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basilio Depsch in the 82nd minute of the match. Victor Peres could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Marino Sadin made a huge save. 91 minutes into the match, Loja S.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Lucho Pérez came free, but Ismael Rossell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Colo-Colo's much stronger midfield.
