With an all-out effort, PHOENIX SC's 郝思骏 threw himself towards the right post 6 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bagol Kalla, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 6 minutes, 杨志鹰 mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the 『挑战者』大连星海湾 and the PHOENIX SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers 谢希晨 in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Markus Sirait saved PHOENIX SC from getting behind. 23 minutes into the match, PHOENIX SC's goal looked a bit too open when 邱翀西 came free, but Markus Sirait reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A nice corner shot did that 龙适树 got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Markus Sirait quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If 谢希晨 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the match, 『挑战者』大连星海湾's goalkeeper 郝思骏 had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ida Bagus Zulfan. Markus Sirait took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 谢希晨, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bagol Kalla to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Bagol Kalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 郝思骏 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by 『挑战者』大连星海湾's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ishaq Afiff was slow to take the kick. During this time PHOENIX SC's players had a chance to rest. PHOENIX SC's Ishaq Afiff was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but 郝思骏 in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 59th minute, 谢希晨 made a precise shot to the right of Markus Sirait.
