The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When İlmi Karacan fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ÇALIMLI's protests and gave İlmi Karacan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 3rd match minute, ÇALIMLI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by İlmi Karacan to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC booed when ÇALIMLI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Halit Fahri Mert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ferhan Sayıl kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Feyzullay Özsungur charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Feyzullay Özsungur the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to ÇALIMLI getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Feyzullay Özsungur hit a great ball. Birkan Yağın didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aytek Teoman went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Utkan Aytekin in the 15th minute of play forced ÇALIMLI's goalkeeper Birkan Yağın to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC's Aytek Teoman looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. ÇALIMLI's Ferid Özer quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alican Balcan, made in the 18th minute of the game. Halit Fahri Mert scored 2-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anıl Baran Akça, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 22nd minute, Halim Aydıntan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Özkan Davutoğlu in the 23rd minute of play forced ÇALIMLI's goalkeeper Birkan Yağın to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute of the match, Aytek Teoman got a very nice opportunity to score, but Birkan Yağın was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Ahmet Ege Hacıahmetoğlu took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anıl Baran Akça. Anıl Baran Akça dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. 37 minutes into the match, Aytek Teoman dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Birkan Yağın, 4-2. Ferid Özer hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. 44 minutes into the match, ÇALIMLI's goal looked a bit too open when Utkan Aytekin came free, but Birkan Yağın reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC's Gencay Sarih suffered a concussion in the 45th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC's Gürol Akçabay was substituted for Gencay Sarih. After a rather tough play, ÇALIMLI's Feyzullay Özsungur got a free kick in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and İlmi Karacan made a kick off. Birkan Yağın took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aytek Teoman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute, Aytek Teoman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-2. ÇALIMLI's Birkan Yağın played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aytek Teoman in the 58th minute of play. After 60 minutes of play, Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC's Aytek Teoman made it 6-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Birkan Yağın was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 62nd minute, Aytek Teoman made a precise shot to the right of Birkan Yağın. ÇALIMLI's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-2. In the 67th minute, Halit Fahri Mert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aytek Teoman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Birkan Yağın tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, ÇALIMLI's goal looked a bit too open when Aytek Teoman came free, but Birkan Yağın reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 78thth minute of the game Aytek Teoman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ÇALIMLI's Birkan Yağın was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Birkan Yağın showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aytek Teoman in the 81st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in ÇALIMLI's zone, Özkan Davutoğlu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Birkan Yağın came out of the goal and Özkan Davutoğlu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aytek Teoman in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Birkan Yağın prevented the ball from getting in the gole. ÇALIMLI's Birkan Yağın played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aytek Teoman in the 87th minute of play. After some careless play in the ÇALIMLI defense, Aytek Teoman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Birkan Yağın. The ÇALIMLI fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Birkan Yağın should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Aytek Teoman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Birkan Yağın was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. ÇALIMLI's Birkan Yağın played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aytek Teoman in the 94th minute of play. Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
