Spectators: 153 (Terracing: 115, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) Hartlepool's Allan Ahlfors started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tim Lindqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvin Hedström in the 7th minute of play. In the 9th minute, Allan Ahlfors reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Göran Gustafsson. The goal made the score 1-0. The supporters of Hartlepool booed when Mountainhammer United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvin Hedström didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd match minute, Mountainhammer United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Viggo Larsfält to maneuver through the defense. After 23 minutes, Einar Heggert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mountainhammer United and the Hartlepool players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 22nd minute, one of Mountainhammer United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mountainhammer United. In the 24th minute there was a penalty for Hartlepool. Jack Kinnman stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Göran Gustafsson. 3-0. In the 26th of the match, Leo Boman tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Göran Gustafsson got in the way and made a wonderful save. Ingvar Sundström's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Göran Gustafsson firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 29th minute, Dennis Holmgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 30 minutes into the match, Hartlepool's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Hellkvist came free, but Tim Lindqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tim Lindqvist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Victor Hellkvist's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. In the 38thth minute of the game Allan Ahlfors who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mountainhammer United's Göran Gustafsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Allan Ahlfors in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Göran Gustafsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Göran Gustafsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dennis Holmgren in the 40th minute of play. In the 43rd minute Victor Hellkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tim Lindqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Göran Gustafsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Allan Ahlfors, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.

Rikard Hake hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Göran Gustafsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ingvar Sundström in the 58th minute of the match. In the 59th minute, Sakarias Hafström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 67 minutes Mountainhammer United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jack Kinnman who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Jack Kinnman got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Göran Gustafsson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a little luck, Hartlepool's Tim Lindqvist got control of the ball when Victor Hellkvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. 75 minutes into the game, Victor Hellkvist recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tim Lindqvist. Victor Hellkvist showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. Allan Ahlfors received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Göran Gustafsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Allan Ahlfors struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Göran Gustafsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hartlepool. If Folke Berg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Allan Ahlfors's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Göran Gustafsson was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. Tim Lindqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Hellkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Mountainhammer United's Victor Hellkvist slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tim Lindqvist. That made the score 3-2 after 95 minutes of play. Mountainhammer United's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
