An unexpectedly hard shot by Tom Bållström in the 24th minute of play forced Gnesta Oilers's goalkeeper Erling Bergfelt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jim Bratt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eskil Sundberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Rudolf Håkansson kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Emil Löfdahl got his second yellow card in the match during the 29th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 29th match minute, La Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emil Löfdahl to maneuver through the defense. 33 minutes into the game, Patrik Finman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gnesta Oilers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La Boys the free kick. The referee gave La Boys a penalty, 35 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Knut Wållander, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gnesta Oilers's Erling Bergfelt. 0-3. 37 minutes into the game, Matthias Wallin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Erling Bergfelt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 40th minute, Jan-Erik Jakobsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Rudolf Håkansson managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Boys's supporters rose to their feet, but Rudolf Håkansson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erling Bergfelt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sven-Åke Gadd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Eskil Sundberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sakarias Hellbom made a kick off. Erling Bergfelt made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Matthias Wallin sent off a good shot on target. Matthias Wallin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Erling Bergfelt skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. La Boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matthias Wallin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jim Bratt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gnesta Oilers's Erling Bergfelt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Gnesta Oilers from getting a goal against them. An unexpected shot in the 94th minute by Matthias Wallin got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The La Boys players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
