The goal made the score 1-0. Thomas Olofsson hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in The Skates's zone, Olov Gustafsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osvald Albom came out of the goal and Olov Gustafsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joachim Jönsätt in the 11th minute of play forced The Skates's goalkeeper Osvald Albom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jan-Olof Fågel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Olenberg having to interfere. Jan Olenberg made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Rickard Håning sent off a good shot on target. Rickard Håning sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Björn Kilström kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Jan Olenberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rickard Håning went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 35th minute Joachim Jönsätt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvald Albom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emanuel Björklund hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. The Skates's Douglas Stenkvist couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 39th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Stadsbornas IF. In the 40th minute, Rickard Håning got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 42nd minute Joachim Jönsätt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvald Albom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan Olenberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Björn Sävström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rickard Håning stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rickard Håning sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gert Bammerman during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to The Skates getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Osvald Albom made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 75th minute Rickard Håning shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Olenberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osvald Albom was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Joachim Jönsätt showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 81 minute of play. A collision led to The Skates getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Douglas Stenkvist hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Stadsbornas IF's Osvald Albom threw himself towards the right post 93 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joachim Jönsätt, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 93rd minute, Jan-Olof Fågel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the The Skates players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
