In the 5th minute, Rune Asklöv hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eskil Fredriksson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Charlie Bark in the 8th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Karlsborg's goal looked a bit too open when Lennart Lundhberg came free, but Villiam Andersson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Charlie Bark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eskil Fredriksson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charlie Bark in the 36th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Lennart Lundhberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 45 minutes, Edvard Magnusson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karlsborg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edvard Magnusson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Charlie Bark was the one to do the kick off. When Charlie Bark came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Karlsborg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Charlie Bark couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Karlsborg getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Rune Asklöv hit a great ball. Eskil Fredriksson came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Karlsborg's Edvard Magnusson. But to his dismay, Edvard Magnusson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 76th match minute, Pauliström was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ingvar Apelquist to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edvard Magnusson in the 79th minute of play forced Pauliström's goalkeeper Eskil Fredriksson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Villiam Andersson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tommy Stålman in the 80th minute. The audience was convinced that Charlie Bark's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eskil Fredriksson was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. Villiam Andersson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lennart Lundhberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Pauliström's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
