Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfred Axelsson in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marko Holmstedt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marko Holmstedt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aleksander Eliasson in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Aleksander Eliasson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eric Åkesson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 33rd minute Holger Springfält suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Bengt-Åke Stephansson fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DFP's protests and gave Bengt-Åke Stephansson a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to DFP getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Bengt-Åke Stephansson hit a great ball. The long shot by Jonas Torsberg in the 35th minute really tested Eric Lilja's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Eric Lilja stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Malte Siöberg's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christer Lindberg during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to DFP getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Christer Lindberg hit a great ball. Eric Lilja took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eddie Sandell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elof Lund's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marko Holmstedt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Philip Eriksson made the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute Alfred Axelsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marko Holmstedt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute, Elof Lund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in DFP's zone, Malte Siöberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eric Lilja came out of the goal and Malte Siöberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 67 minutes into the match, DFP's goal looked a bit too open when Malte Siöberg came free, but Eric Lilja reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute, Eddie Sandell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marko Holmstedt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Philip Eriksson, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Eric Åkesson's late challenge caught a DFP's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eric Åkesson helped the player get up and apologised. Eric Åkesson kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 79th minute of the match Jerry Mattsson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marko Holmstedt skillfully saved the ball. When Malte Siöberg came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Kind of Blue fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Malte Siöberg couldn't finish the play. 83 minutes into the match, DFP's goal looked a bit too open when Malte Siöberg came free, but Eric Lilja reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
