After some careless play in the Karen FC defense, Inge Söderkvist kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bengt-Åke Smitt. The Karen FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bengt-Åke Smitt should have stopped the shot. Bengt-Åke Smitt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Inge Söderkvist in the 25th minute. After 30 played minutes Lillhärdal BF got a freekick which was hit by Egon Olsson. Lillhärdal BF's Sven-Erik Nyström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Olof Dahlberg in the 31st minute of play. Per-Åke Holmgren kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Sven-Erik Nyström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Olof Dahlberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Sven-Olof Dahlberg came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Karen FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sven-Olof Dahlberg couldn't finish the play. When Bengt Bergkvist fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Karen FC's protests and gave Bengt Bergkvist a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Karen FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Bengt Bergkvist hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Karen FC defense, Tony Ödman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bengt-Åke Smitt. The Karen FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bengt-Åke Smitt should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bengt Bergkvist to strike the kick off in the second half. After 60 minutes, Sven-Olof Dahlberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Karen FC and the Lillhärdal BF players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 60th match minute, Karen FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven-Olof Dahlberg to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Karen FC's Linus Brovall got a free kick in the 63rd minute.
