The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Magne Dalberg fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Samba Fotboll U21's protests and gave Magne Dalberg a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Di Röe booed when Samba Fotboll U21 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Magne Dalberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Samba Fotboll U21's Ivar Sjödin got a free kick in the 10th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Ragnar Johnsson notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Samba Fotboll U21's Lennart Hägert. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jörgen Pihl to make the kick off.
